In an innocent heartland city, five are shot dead by an expert sniper.

The police quickly identify and arrest the culprit, and build a slam-dunk case.

But, the accused man claims he’s innocent and the only thing he will say is: “Get Jack Reacher.”

US Army Police Major Jack Reacher (Tom Cruise) arrives in town to investigate the shootings by Barr (Joseph Sikau).

Shocked at the accused’s request, Reacher sets out to confirm for himself the absolute certainty of the man’s guilt, but comes up with more than he bargained for.

Based on the thriller One Shot by British author Lee Child, directed by Tom Cruise and the talented Joseph Deschanel.

■ The Midweek Herald has teamed up with the Regent to offer one lucky reader the chance to win a pair of tickets to see any film.

To enter the competition, simply answer the following question: Which superb British writer is responsible for the series about Jack Reacher?

Send your answer on a postcard, along with your name, address and telephone number, to: Regent Competition, Archant South West, Fair Oak Close, Exeter Airport Business Park, Clyst Honiton, EX5 2UL.
