VISIT Alaska, one of the last great frontiers of the modern world, a magnificent wilderness of untamed beauty where you can be at one with nature.

Also a desolate wasteland at the borders of civilisation, where you can easily lose your way, your bearings and your very mind

One man goes in search of adventure, freedom and a piece of the good life in Alaska via The Plough Arts Centre in Torrington and soon finds that the reality is no picnic…

The show on Tuesday of next week (January 29) is a tragi-comic riot of Pythonesque dottiness presented by Black Fish and Makin Projects, in association with Exeter Northcott Theatre.

With plummeting temperatures, technical disasters and a severe lack of any practical skills whatsoever, our hero soon plunges into a nightmarish world of extreme survival, haunted by all things living, dead and Athabascan.

The show brings together the masterful trio that is Giles King, Craig Johnson (performers) and Carl Grose (writer), from Kneehigh Theatre classics such as The King of Prussia, The Bacchae, Tristan and Yseult and The Red Shoes.

The curtain goes up on the Alaskan wilderness at 8pm. Tickets are available from the box office on 01805 6247624 and for pre-show meals, call 01805 625925.
