Jess Morgan is set to perform at Jurassic Folk, in Seaton, next month.
Although based in Norwich, singer songwriter Jess is probably better known in countries such as Norway due to extensive touring she has undertaken on the continent.
But the UK is beginning to wake up to her distinctive, appealing voice, dynamic guitar playing and well-crafted songs which draw on both British and American folk tradition.
But she cannot be placed in any particular pigeon hole, it is quite obvious she has her own individual style and unmistakable voice.
Her songs are living and breathing, tell stories bursting with graphic imagery, and scream out to be played.
Jess self-released her debut album, All Swell, to notable acclaim in 2010.
Working completely independently, she gained the attention of the musical media.
BBC Radio 2’s Steve Lamacq said “.. every so often you come across a little gem like this..” and Acoustic Magazine “.. catchy, melodic with a roots edge, Jess Morgan goes it alone and against the grain...”.
Now her second album, Aye Me, has only just come out and looks like it will make even more of an impression. With busy UK tours under way, 2012 is on its way to being a great year for Jess.
Jurassic Folk will start at 7.45pm, on Wednesday, June 6.
