The Bespoke Devon Dance Compass project will see sarah Lamb of the Royal Ballet at Chulmleigh Community Concert on Friday (November 23.)
A STAR of the Royal Ballet is making an ‘unprecedented’ appearance in a one off show at Chulmleigh Community College this Friday.
Sarah Lamb will be performing in Bespoke, a show interweaving dance and crafts put together by former Royal Opera House associate choreographer and artistic director of Jagged Antics, Freddie Opoku-Addaie.
The public show is a culmination of the Devon Dance Compass Project created by Dance in Devon and is appearing at four community venues in all points of the compass in the county.
North Devon people will be taking part and local dance ambassador Katy Lee has been working with students from Chulmleigh Community College, Home Grown Kids (home educators network) and the South Molton U3A group.
Chulmleigh is the concluding show and starts at 7.15pm, with tickets costing £8 for adults, £5.50 for under 16s and £24 for a family ticket.
American born Sarah Lamb is a principal dancer at the Royal Ballet and has performed all over the world. She is extremely well known in performance art circles and organisers say it is an ‘unprecedented’ opportunity to see her dance in such a community setting.
In the Chulmleigh show, the dance sequences have been blended with the work of environmental artist and illustrator Pete Ward.
