Robin Hood in All Saints, near Axminster

18:30 17 January 2013

Archant

Members of All Saints Pantomime Society are busy rehearsing twice a week for their next production, their 21st pantomime, which this year is to be Robin Hood.

Once again, Jo Ellis has written the script which takes a modern look at the well-known traditional tale.

Most of the usual characters are included plus a few unusual ones!

This year David Campbell takes on the role of Robin Hood with the Steve Holt playing the ‘Dame’ as Robin’s mother, Mrs Hood.

Michael Shaw is Monsieur Tea Cosi the French Economics Minister accompanied by Gay Atkinson as his German equivalent, Frau Angular Murky.

The society welcomes a new member this year with Paul Frisby playing the Chief Banker.

As well as Maid Marion (Jane Pollard) and a motley crew of Merry Men, Irish Tinkers, Itinerant Musicians and a trio of Witches, the cast also includes the regular group of talented children, who don’t seem to mind making fools of themselves!

Tina Mackenny provides the music for some well known songs and, this year, the show is directed by Jo Ellis and Janet Verplancke.

The show will be performed at All Saints Village Hall on Thursday, Friday and Saturday, January 31 to February 2, at 7.45pm.

Tickets are available from Anthea on 01460 221088 or e-mail: thebarehams@beaconcot.co.uk

Alternatively, they can be purchased at All Saints Village Hall from 7.30pm to 8pm on Mondays and Fridays.

Ticket prices are £5 for adultsand £2.50 for children for Thursday and Friday, with all tickets £5 on Saturday.

In addition there will be a Charity Performance on Saturday, February 9, at 7.45pm, in aid of All Saints Village Hall.

Tickets for this are £10, to include a light supper.
