A Free Day of events plus top live music through the weekend - read on to find out more...

A busy week of music and entertainment beckons at The Plough Arts Centre in Torrington, kicking off on Thursday (February 28) with a free day of events.

Following a great success last year, the Free Day is back from 10am-6.30pm, with something for everyone including a free film screening, free workshops, plus music with local musicians.

Plough patron and one half of folk duo Show of Hands, Steve Knightley, will be on hand in the day and then back at 8pm for a solo gig.

Then on Friday at 8pm original London-based band Public Service Broadcasting are at the venue. Described as ‘idiosyncratically brilliant’ the band is already making waves with its multi instrumental blend with electronica that adds an extra dimension through the clever use of old public information films, archive footage and propaganda material. With support from Stella Martyr.

On Saturday, extraordinarily talented and passionate jazz singer songwriter Clare Teal will performing, with support from North Devon’s 12-year-old singer songwriter prodigy Keira Osment.

For tickets and information on all the events, call 01805 624624 or visit www.theploughartscentre.org.uk
