Sidmouth FolkWeek (Friday, July 31-Friday, August 7) is nearly upon us. The tone for the busy festival will be set with two special pre-festival concerts at the Ham Marquee.

Live music fans have a number of acts to enjoy this weekend, in and around Exmouth.

Celebrating the Big Scratch: pupils from Exeter Road School along with (back row) Catherine Rix (head of music at Exeter Road School), Daphne Harlock (ELO's musical director), Tiffany Melero (Big Scratcher), John Harlock (Big Scratch tutor), Elizabeth Pridham  (Big Scratcher); and Robin Schaechter (Big Scratcher), plus Councillor Eileen Wragg (representing Devon County Council funding);

The Exmouth Light Orchestra’s next concert – on July 18 – will include several young (and not-so-young) musicians. These new players have come through the charitable “Big Scratch” initiative, which has been running in East Devon since 2012.
