Rehearsals are in full swing for Exmouth Musical Theatre Companys next production, Sweet Charity from June 5 - 9.
This energetic piece set in the 1960s, tells the story of a New York dance-hall hostess, Charity Hope Valentine, and her lifelong quest to find Mr Right.
Debbie Butler is playing the part of Charity and she is well known to local audiences, having taken lead roles in many of their productions, more recently as Irene Molloy in Hello Dolly and in Chess as Florence Vassey.
Debbie’s Mr Right is her husband Craig, who is playing Oscar Lindquist the shy, attractive young man who Charity meets in the lift.
Exmouth Musical Theatre Company has a high reputation in the South West for staging highly professional productions.
Sweet Charity is a fantastic mix of music, dance and comedy, with a sassy script and some of musical theatre’s all time great songs such as Big Spender, If they could see me now, and The Rhythm of Life.
