THE North Devon-based Copperwood bluegrass band will be playing at Swimbridge Jubilee Hall on Saturday night.

The four-piece plays a mixture of cover versions and original material with classics from Bill Monroe, The Stanley Brothers and modern favourites from The Steeldrivers, Sierra Hull, and Dan Tyminski.

Doors open at 7.30pm for an 8pm start, with w licensed bar. Tickets, costing £6.50, are available from Swimbridge Post Office or Julie Whitton on 01271 830311, or email julie@theyews.org.uk Profits in aid of Swimbridge Jubilee Hall.

Noel Harrower book release

Exmouth author Noel Harrower has a new book out. Uncivil War – Twin Tales From Nottinghamshire is an ‘action-packed’ historical novel, telling the story of five children caught in the conflict of the English Civil War. Set in Nottinghamshire, the twin tales follow the raising of the King’s Standard at Nottingham Castle in 1642, through to 1646, when King Charles surrendered to the Scottish army outside Newark.
