Free bushcraft days near Bideford

A free bushcraft club is set to start soon in Torridge.

The Outdoor Club activities will take place one day a week in sheltered National Trust woodland south of Bideford.

Activities include fire lighting and fire building for different purposes, water gathering and purification, shelter building, plant identification and uses and green craft work.

An intake day is being held on Wednesday of next week (May 2).

The sessions are run by Pete Adams and Tracey Williams of The Outdoor Club And available to people with direct experience of mental distress.

It has been funded by Ecominds, a £7.5million funding scheme run by Mind on behalf of the BIG Lottery Fund. The scheme involves people with direct experience of mental distress in environmental projects that improve their mental and physical health, and local communities.
