Archant

If you were not at the Offwell Village Hall on Monday, December 17, you missed a really good night.

The Honiton Folk Dance Club, and Father Christmas, gathered for their annual Christmas party with a bring and share supper, a raffle, and a fantastic night of dancing.

Christmas hats went with the hall décor and the dancers danced to the music of the Amycrofters Folk Dance Band.

Calling was done by Simon Maplesden.

This group of dancers, with the Amycrofters, seem to have a lot of fun right through the year.

There is always laughter and dancing on a Monday evening to live music, with special events being a regular thing.

The dancers range from inexperienced to the more experienced, but everyone is there to enjoy themselves.

The club has a variety of callers and bands. We, The Amycrofters, run this organisation.

If you want a good night out in the New Year, call them on 01404 46451 or 0797 6533520, or visit www.amycrofters.co.uk All are welcome.

We would also like to take this opportunity to thank the Midweek Herald and all those who have supported us and the club, throughout the year and wish you all a very Happy New Year!

Andrew and June Mycroft

Chloë Stratta.

Elijah, first performed in Birmingham in 1846 and conducted by the composer himself, is not a work to be attempted by the faint-hearted, requiring singers with stamina and the ability to sing over an arching range of dynamics, from the contemplative style of Blessed are the Men who fear Him, to the declamatory Baal we cry to thee.
