Raul Prieto Ramirez will be playing an organ recital at St.Michael’s Parish Church in Lyme Regis in aid of the organ appeal, tonight (Wednesday).
Regarded as one of the most exciting talents on the international concert scene at the moment, still only in his late 20s, Raul has been chosen as the organist-in-residence at Spain’s premier concert hall, the Auditorio Nacional de Musica in Madrid – the home of the Spanish National Orchestra and Choir.
Raul’s special appeal to audiences and critics alike owes much to his thrilling performances, given entirely from memory, which combine dazzling virtuosity with great expressive power.
His programme will include; J S Bach Prelude and fugue in G Major BWV 541, Saint-Saëns Danse macabre (arr Edwin Lemare), Juan María Thomas Toccata post Te Deum, Franz Liszt Mephisto Waltz I, S 514 Der Tanz in der Dorfschenke (arr Raúl Prieto Ramírez), Alexandre Guilmant Sonata No1 in D Minor.
The concert takes place tonight, starting at 7.30pm, with tickets at £10/8, children £5, from Lyme Regis TIC in advance on 01297 442138 or at the door.
