Sidmouth Primary School PTFA’s Christmas Fair will take place on December 6. Read this and more.

CAMPAIGN 2012: Sidmouth Primary School PTFA’s Christmas Fair will take place on December 6, at the Woolbrook Road site, from 3.30pm to 5.30pm.

Proceeds will boost the minibus campaign.

If anyone would like a table to sell items for themselves, it costs £7.

ALCOHOLICS ANONYMOUS: A new meeting of Alcoholics Anonymous is starting in Sidmouth on Monday evening in the All Saints Church Lounge.

November is Alcoholism Awareness Month, and organisers of this new group are opening their doors to speak to anybody who has a problem with alcohol.

It starts at 7pm. For more details contact 07869 597796.

LIFT RESCUE: Firefighters from Sidmouth had to rescue a woman trapped in a lift in Sidford, on Tuesday.

Two appliances were called to a property in Drakes Avenue at around 3.30pm.

They used small tools to release the woman.

Noel Harrower book release

Exmouth author Noel Harrower has a new book out. Uncivil War – Twin Tales From Nottinghamshire is an ‘action-packed’ historical novel, telling the story of five children caught in the conflict of the English Civil War. Set in Nottinghamshire, the twin tales follow the raising of the King’s Standard at Nottingham Castle in 1642, through to 1646, when King Charles surrendered to the Scottish army outside Newark.
