Young, old and the process of passing between the two - Virginia Ironside’s
entertaining and funny show is at the Queen’s Theatre on Thursday (November 22).
AUTHOR, columnist and agony aunt, Virginia Ironside brings her irreverent, honest and humorous one-woman show The Virginia Monologues: Why Growing Old is Great to the Queen’s Theatre in Barnstaple tomorrow (Thursday).
Ironside, a former rock chick and music journalist, has turned 60 - her hugely entertaining show mixes observational humour with self-deprecation as she reflects on her transition from young woman to grandmother.
Topics such as unlimited free drugs, fun funerals, grandchildren and sex are covered as well as her own life story – from one-night stands and interviewing the Beatles to her work as an agony aunt.
Directed by Nigel Planer, Virginia Ironside’s stand-up show has much for all ages to identify with.
The show starts at 8pm. Tickets are available from the box office on 01271 324242 or visit www.northdevontheatres.org.uk
