The last encounter of the season at Raleigh Park saw 99 points scored with festival rugby being the name of the game, writes John Goldfinch.

Refereed by James Grant, who allowed the game to flow with the minimum of stoppages, it was entertaining for the large crowd, particularly those from Cleve, who had stopped to watch after junior Rugby event in the morning.

Tries came at regular intervals with scores from Lee Tanton (2), Neil Williams (2), Mike Symons(2), Matt Brambles (1 ), Chris Gibbons (1) and Kevin Rodwell. Lee Tanton converted four of the tries.

That brings Withies season to a close. With a highly respectably fourth place in the league the campaign can be considered a success. Training for the next campaign begins on an ad hoc basis immediately with official training commencing in June.
