Upottery sprang the surprise of the day as they became only the second team this term to defeat Bridestowe, beating them by seven wickets.

Stuart Drew (4-30) and three wickets each for Gary Kennard (3-13) and Shane Kennard (3-19) helped bundle out Bridestowe for 101.

Skipper Dave Woolacott (41) and an unbeaten 23 from Ollie Rice saw Upottery over the line.

Upottery II made it a win double with a seven wicket success at Whimple II.

On Saturday Upottery’s two side’s meet Kentisbeare with the 2nd XIs meeting at Upottery and the 1st XI’s going head to head in Mid Devon.
