In the final game of the Evening League 1, Upottery won a very tight match away at Westhill, gaining the points needed to maintain their place in Division 1 next season.

Meanwhile, in Evening League 2 Musbury finished as league leaders and Sidbury B and Membury keeping up the bottom of the division. Evening League matches are now complete.

In Afternoon Division 1, Beer and Lyme Regis lying in first and second place respectively await the result of third place Awliscombe to confirm their positions.

Afternoon Division 2 leaders Musbury are beyond catching in the last fixture, but second place Colyton need to await the result of third place Sidford A to see if they maintain their position.

Come St Nicholas and Sidbury both need to win their remaining matches to avoid the drop. Seaton Cliff D lead the Afternoon Division 3 with newcomers Hemyock A laying a close second.

In the Knock-out competition, Beer won at home against Upottery and had to face a ferocious reply before coming out eventual winners, progressing to the next round against Colyton.

In the Devon Club Team competition, Beer gained a bye to reach the final in Plymouth.

Following a long drive and all day matches they come came out as County Club Winners beating the Manchester United of Devon bowls - Exeter Nomads in the process!

Just to reinforce the point of how good a level East Devon and District Short Mat Bowls League is.
