Axminster Town will be the Christmas Number One in the South West Peninsula League Eastern Division after their game on the Saturday before Christmas was, like the rest of the division washed out.

Axminster Town were the penultimate South West Peninsula League, Eastern Division club to call off their Saturday game, leaving it is long as possible in the hope of beating the rain.

They were swiftly joined by the final match in the section to be washed out at Appledore and that meant a complete washout of the Saturday before Christmas programme across the Eastern Division.

The entire Premier Division programme was also washed out.

The Fresha Devon & Exeter League was also looking grim in terms of people wanting to watch local football

By 10am 46 matches across the divisions had been called off.
