Morchard Bishop 2, East Budleigh 2
East Budleigh made the long journey to Wood Lane on Easter Monday to face Morchard Bishop and came away with a very creditable point, writes Mark Auton.
It was 16-year-old Jack Howarth who took the plaudits on his full debut picking up the East Budleigh Garage Man of the Match award and scoring both goals.
It was the home side that struck first within five minutes, but Budleigh gradually worked off the Easter eggs to get a foothold in the game.
A move that started on the right with Chris Eveleigh ended with Dave Cockayne setting up Howarth to level.
Morchard had the better possession going down the slope and restored their lead before the break.
The second half saw Budleigh have the better of things with some fine passing and they were rewarded a quarter of an hour from time when a ball into the box from Budleigh keeper Rob Dance found its way to Howarth to make it 2-2.
Along with young Howarth, Si Tuley and Dan Reynolds both had good games.
This Saturday Budleigh entertain league leaders Seaton at Vicarage Road, before completing their home campaign against Newtown on Monday night.
