Archant

Exe II 2, Lydney 2

Exe produced their best collective performance of the campaign and produced the perfect response to the previous week’s disappointment.

After an evenly balanced first half Exe took the lead six minutes into the second half when Hannah Jones drilled in a well placed shot from a penalty corner.

Lydney began to push hard, causing some indecision in the home side’s defence and, with 15 minutes remaining Exe found themselves 2-1 down.

Rosie Barrett and Jackie Shute put in Player of the Match shifts and it was Shute who popped up in the right place, and at the right time, to rifle in a deserved equaliser just 90 seconds from the end of the match.
