There was a big twist in the race for the Fresha League Premier Division title in the Wednesday night matches.

Seaton Town’s two rivals both for the title and the second potential promotion berth to the South West Peninsula league dropped points.

St Martins’ went down by the odd goal in five at Newtown whilst Topsham Town were held 1-1 at Coronation Field by Heavitree Social United.

It means that the ball is very much back in Town’s court for, if they win their final two games then they are now assured of a top two finish and with that then able to apply for promotion.

On Saturday Town head for East Budleigh, St Martin’s go to Alphington and Topsham Town hosts Willand Rovers Reserves.

Heading into Saturday’s game the top of the table looks like;

P Pts GD

Seaton Town 28 66 (+59)

St Martins 25 63 (+46)

Topsham Town 26 59 (+44)
