Exmouth Sea Angling Association held their re-scheduled Exe Cup event after the original date had been washed away by bad weather, writes Simon Boeree.
Members fished through the night between Weston and Branscombe and the main target fish were smoothounds which are now showing locally.
Every fish was returned as usual and there were smoothounds recorded by all three podium positions winners.
At the weigh-in, Brian ‘the Viking’ Reed from Budleigh took top spot with an impressive mixed bag of fish for 296 per cent.
Coming a very close second, with just a single per cent less fish than the winner, was Exmouth’s Gary Currie.
Another Exmouth sea angler, Paul Rowe, was third.
