The East Devon Golf Club Seniors played their monthly qualifying Stableford at East Devon on Monday (April 2).
The conditions were almost perfect, blue skies, a zephyr of wind and as always the wonderful views.
The greens had been hollow tined and top dressed within the last fortnight so they were slow but a slightly harder putt was all that was required.
They will be in their usual excellent condition within a week or so.
Eighty four players took part and the player of note was Bill McDermott who had an awesome score of 44 points which will be rewarded by a well deserved (and well needed!) reduction in his handicap.
Bill McDermott, playing off a handicap of 18, was the winner with 44 points. Ian Sampson (11) with 43 points was second whilst John Harvey (19) and Paul Willoughby (17), both finished with 40 points.
There were seven 2’s who shared a pot of £84. The players to record 2’s were Bruce Hewitt, John Hamstead, John Harvey, Martin Bright, Rod Ford, Ken Payne and Tom Kenny.
