Club competitions are well underway at Madeira and the Ladies’ Championship the semi-final line-up is now known.

Sue Harriott, Jan Roberts, Janine Orchard and Liz Smerdon make up the four, one of whom will eventually be crowned Queen of the green!

In the 2-wood singles Janine Orchard, Catherine King, Sue Harriott and Angela Denner are through to the semi finals.

Captain Angel Denner played host to a team of ladies from Torbay Jill Perrin, Janet Grundy, Jenny Smith and Angela Denner drew 15-15.

Janet Allen, Jan Worsfold , Norma Cureton and Carole Worth lost 16 - 23 and Penny Preece, Marie Killoran, Brenda Marks and Veda Bevan won 26 - 13

In the Foxlands trophy Madeira played Budleigh Salterton away and there was a 32-17 victory for Angela Denner, Dee Norman, Janine Orchard and Sue Harriott whilst the team of Jill Perrin, Veda Bevan, Jean Rainton and Jacky Howle lost 15 - 16

In the home leg Christine Macaulay, Sandy Cox, Annette Flockhart and Liz Smerdon won 29-12 whilst Jan Roberts, Jenny Smith, Brenda Marks and Catherine King won 30–14.

In the Keith Ewins open triples Mick Powell, Mike Gorman, and Cliff Skinner play Dave Franklin, Graham Clarkson and Catherine king in the final.

Last, but certainly not least, four Madeira ladies will play in the Devon County ladies match against Cornwall County ladies at Carnmoggas on Monday – good luck to them.
