Exmouth Sea Angling Association member Si Boeree was in action over the Easter holiday.
Lympstone based Boeree landed a specimen smalleyed Ray whilst on a
trip with other members which also produced turbot, spotted ray, whiting an dog fish.
The bait used by Boeree was a mackerel fillet offered on a 3/0 pulley rig and the smalleyed ray weighed in at an impressive 11lb 7oz, just a few ounces short of the current club record.
After being quickly recorded the specimen fish was immediately returned to the sea safe and sound.
