Winning the toss against Exmouth, Sidmouth’s captain Max Hancock opted to bat first, writes Mark Pugsley.
Opening the batting, wicket keeper Ben Marsh quickly achieved seven runs. Jordan Fowler hit five fours closely followed by Jasper Fitzhenry hitting two fours.
Thomas Simmons cracked away a perfect cricket shot for four with Sidmouth ending with 89 runs.
Sidmouth really came into their own with a fabulous all-round fielding display, a great team effort but particularly superb was Louis Morison.
Some great catches from Louis, Thomas, Tobi and a mid-air flying catch from Ollie Jarrett meant at one stage Exmouth were 16 for 6.
Spinner Max had the Exmouth batsmen in a pickle with three wickets and figures of 2-1-3-3 backed up by Ollie Pugsley one wicket and figures of 2-1-1-1.
When Exmouth could crack the ball away, the pace of Scott Hughes quickly prevented the fours.Batsman Tobi Pugsley, bowling for the first time took his first wicket, figures of 1-0-1-1.
Ethan Mead, gaining confidence all the time, bowled 2-0-6-0.
Exmouth totalled 71 after 20 overs. Man of the match was Jordan Fowler for superb batting only halted through retirement
