Exmouth Under-9s entertained Farnham Rugby Club on the final weekend of March.
In Saturday matches the visitors fielded three sides and the Cockles drew all three games.
First up they took on the Flare Guns and they shared ten tires.
Will White (2), Ieuan Brockway and George Gelling were amongst the Cockles try scorers whilst there were some fine shifts put in, particularly by Ben Lucas, Daniel Brooks and Joseph Rose,
Next up the Cockles met The Flame Throwers with whom they shared six tries. Brockway this time bagged a brace and White got the other one. There were also impressive contributions Charris Smith and Tom Pearce.
The final outing as against the Fire Starters and that also ended in a 3-3 draw.
Brockway and White both got another try each whilst Harry Sale was also on the score sheet and the most impressive individual display came from Scott Acheson.
After the matches Tom Pearce was named the Cockles Man of the Match whilst both Ieuan Brockway and Harry Sale received a medal each for their outstanding contributions to the games.
The following day the young Cockles won all four games put before them!
They began with a 20-5 victory over Farnham B with White (2), Brockway and George gelling the scorers. They then defeated Ivybridge 15-10 with Brockway (2) and White the scorers. Next up they beat Torquay 25-10 with tries from Finn Musgrove (2), Will White (2) and Ieuan Brockway and finally they beat Farnham C 25-10 with a White hat-trick and a Brockway brace.
After the matches Farnham presented the Cockles’ with two Rugby Balls and a medal each for Will White and Ieuan Brockway for their outstanding contributions to the games.
All the matches were played in a fine spirit, with games going on in every corner of the ground the organisation was first class and the high standard of rugby from these under nines augers well for the future of Exmouth Rugby and speaks volumes for the dedication of the coaches
