Exmouth RFC enjoyed their latest National Three (SW) victory a little more than usual as it came against a Redingensians side who had declined to play when they pitched up at the Imperial ground a couple of weeks earlier and decided that the playing surface was unfit for play.
On that occasion the Cockles had been happy to play and even took to the pitch for a full-scale training session whilst the opposition return home on the team bus!
Ironically the firmer surface that greeted the players in the final Saturday of February suited the running game that the Cockles like to play and they emerged 13-6 victors to maintain their top three status and indeed stay in the race for both title and promotion.
Dave Bargent with a try and Andrew Powell with a conversion and a brace of penalties saw the Cockles to victory.
