East Budleigh Reserves 0, Chulmleigh Reserves 5
Budleigh had the unenviable task of entertaining a Chulmleigh side that had dropped just two points and scored over 100 goals in an unbeaten season, writes Mark Auton.
Despite these statistics Budleigh fought well and were only one behind at the break.
Steve Davey came closest for Budleigh just after the re-start, but his shot lacked the power to beat the visiting stopper.
A second goal arrived in the 51st minute and despite the efforts of keeper Rob Dance who made some brilliant saves, the league champions added a further three goals.
Davey was closest to a consolation forcing the Chulmleigh keeper into a good stop when his header was tipped away from Phil Page’s free-kick.
For Budleigh Dance was their best player.
