Exmouth Under-13s edged a compelling encounter with Sidmouth.
The match, played at Sidbury on a chilly morning, saw the Cockles go into it with just 15 players.
That meant many played out of their normal positions.
However, the team responded really well and answered an early Sidmouth try with one from Richard Hall and there was also a brace of tries from Tom Cooke.
Young Cooke also tucked away a late conversion and that proved to be the decisive score with the Cockles winning by a margin of just two points.
