AS freezing conditions grip the nation, this cute Ottery creature doesn't want it to get 'otter!
Escot's family of Asian small-clawed otters are enjoying life in a winter wonderland after sub-zero temperatures put the skids under their regular daily routine.
The otters have swapped swimming frolics for skating and sliding across their frozen enclosure and chasing snowflakes.
Ordinarily a native of mangrove swamps and freshwater wetlands of countries such as Bangladesh, Malaysia and Thailand, the resident otters have warmed to the big freeze according to staff at the attraction.
"They love it!" said Lisa Denton, Escot's marketing manager, "their pond freezes over every night so we have to come in early and break it up.
"They're not too happy about that because they enjoy slipping and sliding around on it. They pick up the pieces of ice and take them back to their holt to play with."
