North Devon police back Neighbourhood Watch

NEIGHBOURHOOD policing teams in North Devon are encouraging local communities to join together and take action to help cut local crime by supporting Neighbourhood Watch schemes.

PCSO Katie Simpson, who is the driving force behind the scheme, said: "An active partnership with neighbourhood policing teams can cut crime and opportunites for crime, reduce the fear of crime and encourage a safer, more cohesive community."

She is urging local communites to set up Neighbourhood Watch schemes in their area, or join an existing scheme.

Every neighbourhood in Devon and Cornwall has a neighbourhood policing team, dedicated to listening to their communities to find out what they want them to focus on and working with other agencies to make peoples lives better and safer.
