Ilfracombe Arts College flautist ‘performs with distinction’ at Rotary competition.
A young flute player from Ilfracombe Arts College has represented Devon with distinction at the South West Regional Rotary Young Musician of the Year competition.
Natasha Crane, aged 17, was complimented by the chairman of adjudicators at the event in Winchester for playing two difficult pieces of music unaccompanied and faultlessly.
While not finishing in the top two places on this occasion, the young flautist felt she had gained valuable experience for the contest next year.
“Natasha and her family should be very proud of her efforts,” said Tony Seymour, Ilfracombe Rotary new generations chairman.
“It is an incredibly difficult and competitive event. Natasha represented the college, Ilfracombe and Devon with distinction.”
