The police are appealing for witnesses after a woman died on the A30 near Honiton when the car she was travelling in hit a tree.
The police are appealing for witnesses after a 40-year-old woman died in a collision on the A30 near Honiton on Monday night.
Officers said the woman, who is yet to be named, died at the scene at around 10.50pm when the car she was travelling in hit a tree on the A30 at Rawridge.
The woman passenger, who will be named once she has been formally identified, was from Paignton area police said.
The police are keen to hear from anyone who witnessed the collision or saw a silver Hyundai I30 car travelling west towards Honiton on the A30.
A Devon and Cornwall police spokesperson said: “The driver, a 43 year old man from Torquay, was taken to Royal Devon and Exeter hospital in Exeter.
“His condition is being described as critical but stable.
“The road was closed and local diversions were put in place for around six hours while collision investigators carried out their work.”
