Households in rural Honiton affected. EDDC outlines its ‘catch-up’ plans.

The severe weather, which gripped East Devon yesterday, has affected a limited number of refuse collections, mostly in rural parts of Honiton.

East Devon District Council advises: “Where a collection has been missed, the council will get there on Saturday to catch up – weather permitting.

“Residents are asked to leave their bins out in preparation.”

A spokesman added: “Similarly, a small number of recycling collections have not been possible and, in these cases, householders are asked to hold on to their recycling for another week until their next normal collection day.

“Recycling side waste will also be collected at that time.

“Householders who have clinical waste collections which have been missed are also being asked to wait until their next scheduled weekly collection. In the meantime, the council can send out additional bags if they are needed.”
