Axminster police urge householders to use security devices to protect their valuable fuel

Domestic heating oil worth more than £1,600 has been stolen from storage tanks outside three homes in the Axminster area.

Thefts, over recent days, took place at properties in Cooks Lane, Hawkchurch and Wyke.

A further £1,300 worth of diesel fuel was stolen from a storage tank outside an Axminster business premises.

Police are urging people to secure their fuel supplies with one of variety of devices now available to buy, including an alarm padlock which can be supplied by local police.

In the meantime anyone with information on any of the above crimes is asked to call officers at Axminster on 101. The respective crime references, which all start KA/13, are 02, 22, 28 and 32.
