A Withycombe store has entertained more than 100 people at its grand fun day opening.
Among the attractions at the Kitchen Studio in Pound Lane were live demonstrations from ‘The Devon Chef’ Tim Harris, and wine tastings by Alastair Peebles from the Devon Wine School.
There was also a selection of ciders for visitors to try, provided by Chris Norcott, of Norcotts Cider of Honiton, and Devon cream teas courtesy of Exmouth’s Dairyworld.
Free coffee was brewed up by Gary Williams and Paul Maddick of the Camper Coffee Company, and a share of the profits from kitchens and cider sold on the day will go to Clic Sargent.
Proprietor Pete Chubb said: “We were delighted to welcome so many visitors to our open day on December 29. A great deal of effort went in to opening the new store just before the new year, but the team pulled together to get everything ready in time.”
So far the new store has created three jobs, and more are planned for later in the year.
