Permission sought to place 208 solar photovoltaic panels on land at Castle Hill Barton.

PLANNERS are being asked to give permission for 208 solar panels on land at Castle Hill Barton in Filleigh.

E-Tricity Trading Limited has applied to North Devon Council for three rows of the photovoltaic panels which it says will generate up to 50kw of electricity.

The company said following discussions with council officers this proposal had been submitted as a preferable alternative to an earlier plan for a single long array in the same field.
