Little ones learn to talk with aid of signing and singing
LITTLE ones from six months to two-and-half, are enjoying Sing and Sign sessions at All Saints Church hall, Sidmouth.
Run by Beverley Norman, parents are taught how to use signs while talking to children as research has shown using sign language with young children aids their speech development.
“There are signs for different sounds,” said Sarah Glover, who started Sing and Sign in Honiton six years ago.
“It is so natural for children to point, wave and shake and nod their heads and we are building on top of that. It takes 500 times to recognise words.
The next 10-week course in Sidmouth starts after the Easter break.
