Waitrose in Sidmouth celebrated the giving of £40,000 to the local community since their Community Matters Scheme started in September 2008.To mark this achievement one of the beneficiaries of the scheme came into branch to celebrate with cake and wine. It was fitting that the Sidmouth Lifeboat should be the charity to receive a cheque for £560 as they were, in fact, one of the first charities to be involved with the scheme, together with Living with Cancer and Children's Hospice South West. Receiving the cheque from Branch Manager Mark Shepherd are some of the crew including Theo Burgess who is also an Assistant Section Manager in store. Also present were Alex Goodall, Glyn Jones, Guy Bennett, Simon Priestley and Freddie Wedderburn. WAITROSE in Sidmouth celebrated handing out £40,000 to local causes since their Community Matters Scheme started in 2008.

Sidmouth Lifeboat – one of the first beneficiaries of the project along with Sidmouth Living with Cancer and Children’s Hospice South West – joined in celebrations last week and received a cheque for £560.
