POLICE at Axminster are stepping up the hunt for a catapult attacker who has been targeting homes in East Devon.

Windows at two houses in the Uplyme area were recently shattered when ballbearings were fired through them from a moving car. Panes were shattered at houses in Yawl Hill Lane and Springhead Road.

Officers say they need to apprehend the culprit before someone is injured either by one of the large metal balls or by flying glass.

Police and Community Support Officer Andy Trott appealed to the public to contact them if they had any information about the attacks.

They should call police on 101 and quote either of the incident reference numbers - KA12/193 or KA12/194.
