Bideford-bound traffic is currently tailed back several miles.

TRAFFIC is building on the A39 at the Torridge Bridge after police were called out by a member of the public concerned for a man’s welfare today (Wed).

Officers and an ambulance arrived at the scene at 2.25pm after a 999 call reported a man was crouched over looking distressed.

The 28-year-old from the Bideford area is currently being checked out by paramedics.

Bideford-bound traffic is tailed back several miles and motorists are advised to seek an alternative route.
