While the proposed post of communication manager at EDDC is rightly controversial, a professional might alert council leaders to the fact that communication is a two way process.
It involves listening as well as “informing the people of East Devon about complex changes to services”.
There is an old maxim that we each have two ears and one mouth and they should be used in proportion.
Hopefully the council will start listening, whether or not they spend £40k on someone to tell them how to do it.
