Archant

Honiton gets hit by heavy snowfall.

Honiton did not escape the heavy snowfall overnight which has caused chaos on the roads this morning (Friday).

Many schools in the town and surrounding areas have been forced to close as a result of the bad weather and some roads have been closed as well.

The A375 between Honiton and Putts Corner has been closed and was described as being impassible.

The Highways Agency also reported that the A303 has re-opened after an earlier accident involving two vehicles at Marsh, and the A35 between Honiton and Axminster has also re-opened after it was closed in both directions because of a jack-knifed lorry.

However, some people are making the most of the snowy weather and having some fun on their sledges.
