I would like to congratulate East Devon District Council and Exmouth police in the crack down on dog fouling in the Brixington area.
We are a family who own a dog and would never dream of going out with our dog without poo bags in pockets!
We have children who frequently come home after playing in local parks and complain of stepping in dog mess.
It infuriates me and my husband, who are the ones who have to clean shoes and jeans, trying not to gag on the smell, feeling cross that some people just do not care where their dog messes.
There is also the added problem of the lack of poo bins in the local area. We regularly walk a well-used loop, which is used by a lot of other dog owners, which incorporates some lanes where we can let our dog off the lead to exercise, but, in the whole of that particular area, there is one dog bin.
We always carry our little parcels home if we happen to be going the opposite direction to where the poo bin is situated, but we have recently been seeing filled poo bags thrown into hedges, and mess not even being cleaned up.
It is appalling that, as a dog owner, other owners do not feel the need to clean up after their dog, or at least take it home after cleaning it up. But, please, can we have more poo bins to make things a little easier for those of us who do pick up after poo.
