The Exmouth Christmas Lights Fund has received the latest donation to its appeal.
The donation was made by the Exmouth Friends UK social group, which has handed over a £100 cheque to ECL’s Laura Freeman.
Friends organiser David Gray said: “One or two of our members read an article in the Journal regarding the newly formed Exmouth Christmas Lights group, and felt they should be given every encouragement from the community.
“After meeting Laura Freeman, I was impressed by her enthusiasm and determination to ensure Exmouth never again goes without Christmas lights in the town centre.
“An impromptu raffle was held at a recent FriendsUK coffee morning, which raised £73, and added to that was a donation of £27.”
ECL needs to raise £7,000 for the lights, and wants people to donate, volunteer, or become a member for just £1. For more information email info@exmouthchristmaslights.co.uk or call 01395 548221.
