The proposed purchase of the Rolle Campus by a Community Interest Company (Rolle Exmouth Ltd) from Plymouth University must surely be one of the largest community based projects ever.

I have read with great interest your articles about the Rolle project and have studied their website in detail.

The scale is quite breathtaking – over four acres of land and seventy thousand square feet of floor space (two supermarkets’ worth!!) with the potential to enable a wide range of activities which would be of enormous benefit to the town – vocational courses run by local colleges, space for local groups and clubs and offices for business use to name but a few.

It seems a steal at the price agreed and represents an incredible achievement by the handful of determined Exmothians who have worked for years to get this far.

However, they cannot go any further on their own – it is up to us, the rest of the community, to sign up now and invest in the project as the more of us who do so, the easier it will be for the directors to attract national publicity and funding from other sources.

It needs hundreds (or if possible thousands) of us to become part of the army of supporters. We all have the opportunity to become part of this amazing project – what a legacy it would be to leave for future generations; it is something of which we could be truly proud.

Please join me and act now; if we miss this once-in-a-lifetime opportunity the bulldozers will be in and we will regret it forever.

Our successors will blame us for not finishing the job.

Exmouth always seems to be portrayed by the local authority as being negative, so let’s work together and back this project and show them that we can achieve something quite spectacular.
