May 15 – 17 DEVON COUNTY SHOW. Westpoint, Exeter. The Devon County Show is the largest event in the county calendar and is the perfect place to enjoy a tour of rural life. The show is a giant shop window for rural Devon and links consumers with farmers, food producers and others working in the countryside economy. www.devoncountyshow.co.uk
June 14 – 15 COMBPYNE MANOR, EX13 8SX (4m west of Lyme Regis. From Rousdon (A3052) follow signs to Combpyne.) Nicky and Donald Campbell. 3 acres of mature gardens geared to conservation and wildlife. Seats for enjoying the vistas and plant combinations. Herbaceous perennials balance, Feng shui colour, texture and form. The seaside/spiritual feel within the garden and wooded backdrop provide perfect setting for sitting and contemplating. Wonderful lawn. Displays by local artist and swing seats made by garden owner. Admission £3 – children free.
