I am looking for any information regarding Lucy, my Gt Great Grandmother
She married William Blagdon Gale, corkcutter, 1880 at St Davids Church Exeter, at that time her occupation was 'dressmaker' and her father George Gray, 'shoemaker'
One of the witnesses was her brother, George Hosgrove Gray
She had 4 children
Clara 1881, Alfred 1883, Percival (Percy) 1889 and Amelia 1891, Amelia being my Gt Grandmother.
For many years they lived in Exe St Exeter
Amelia (milly, millie) gave the Hosgrove name to her first daughter, my grandmother and I have always been curious as to why this name was carried on .
Any information regarding any of the family members any one ?
Just found this post after "surfing" on the net. My research is about Ellen Gray Hosgrove, born about 1837 Crediton. She married a Robert Bailey from Exeter (Roberts trade is mentioned as a "cork cutters apprentice" in the 1851 census) in 1856. They had a "Load" of children, Charles b. 1862, Harry b.1866, Elizabeth b.1870, Ellen b.1872, Lucy b. 1876, Edith b. 1877 & Emily b. 1878. Any information about Ellen Gray Hosgrove, would be most appreciated.
