Biker bits, news and views from Mark Pugh.
The Paignton Based Bike Bonanza that is the BMAD Bike Festival takes place on Friday 1st, Saturday 2nd, Sunday 3rd May. One of the highlights of the biking calendar in the South West, the BMAD - Bikers Make A Difference - Festival is a fun packed weekend. It doesn't matter if you are a hardcore biker, a weekend warrior or just a lowly learner (sorry learners - it just fit).Take a gander at the groups website for details. I've been to the last couple and thoroughly enjoyed the weekend. Great bands, wall of death, stunt riders, lots to do, see and eat. www.bmad.co.uk
With my trusty bike back on the road after much toil, a few tweeks and a hell of a lot of luck, I headed out on my first major ride of the year.Yeah, yeah, I know it's late in the day, but with my lack of funds, my coming redundancy etc I thought I'd never get her back out buzzing past the stationary traffic again. Anyway the choice of ride was Exmouth to Torquay, Torquay to Honiton, Honiton to Chesil Beach (not quite as far a Portland) and back to Exmouth. Managed one coffee stop in Torquay, and a stop for the obligatory Bacon Buttie near Chesil. Cloudy all day, but no rain until I got back to Exmouth.I hear the Jurassic Bikers have ride-out soon. Check their site at www.jurassicbikers.co.uk for details.Hopefully I'll be doing a little more riding for pleasure in the coming weeks, and at least now the beasty is back on the road it helps soften the blow of redundancy.
